Let It Do What It Does
by Danny Bracken
Danny Bracken is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice often explores experiential interactions between music, video and physical space. He was a member of the Chicago-based music ensemble Anathallo, releasing records with Nettwerk/Sony/BMG and Anticon Records. The group performed extensively throughout North America, Europe and Japan and made appearances at Lollapalooza, Coachella and other major festivals. In 2010 he was invited by Mark Garry, one of Ireland's 2005 Venice Biennale representatives, to participate in a unique musicians-in-residence program at the installation art museum, the Mattress Factory. In addition to scoring numerous short films, Bracken's music has been heard in commercials ranging from Vicks to American Express. The compositions for Blood Brother mark his first appearance at the Sundance Film Festival. He currently works and resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
