In this 4-week workshop designed for K-12 art teachers, students will learn how to effectively and efficiently utilize ceramic equipment and materials. Through the completion of three different projects, we will discuss proper kiln loading and basic kiln maintenance and successful projects perfect for short class periods and limited supplies. Projects will range from functional to sculptural and will include discussion of state education standards. We will experiment with different glazing and firing techniques, including how to get the best results from underglazes, and class will finish with a Raku potluck, where we will finish our final projects in PCAM's Raku kiln.
